Bringspring Meehealth and Ambient Clinical Analytics Launch CERTAIN to Hospitals in China
SHANGHAI (PRWEB) MARCH 27, 2019 Bringspring Meehealth and Ambient Clinical Analytics announced today the launch of CERTAIN, an advanced clinical decision support system with evidence-based diagnostic checklists. CERTAIN (Checklist for Early Recognition and Treatment of Acute Illness and Injury), now available for use in hospitals across China, was developed using technology licensed from Mayo Clinic in collaboration with Ambient Clinical Analytics. CERTAIN technology was tested in 30 countries through a Mayo Clinic research project over the past 5 years. Bringspring Meehealth team worked with Ambient Clinical team to enhance the product, and adapted it to the Chinese medical system’s requirements. This is the first of the new products for China and the world markets from the collaboration agreement signed between Bringspring Meehealth and Ambient Clinical in 2017.
“CERTAIN not only assists clinicians in acute and critical care, but also provides a platform for them to share their knowledge and experience, build a medical knowledge graph together and develop professional expertise, which will improve healthcare and eventually benefit more people. That is exactly the mission of Meehealth and also the reason we brought CERTAIN to China.”, Dr. Jiwu Zhang, CEO of Meehealth.
“We are excited to work with Bringspring Meehealth to launch CERTAIN for China and other global health IT markets," said Al Berning, CEO of Ambient Clinical Analytics. “Bringspring Meehealth’s strong support of hospitals across China combined with Ambient Clinical’s products, which are based on Mayo Clinic technologies, make a strong combination to improve healthcare through the use of the advanced clinical capabilities of CERTAIN.”
CERTAIN, a Mayo Clinic physician-researcher led global research and quality improvement project, was designed and developed to standardize the approach to evaluate and treat acutely ill patients. The CERTAIN implementation aim was to minimize preventable death, disability and expensive complications in their sickest patients, in diverse acute care environments around the world. The design and content were informed by the survey of clinicians from diverse international settings. CERTAIN has the ability to guide, time and document real-time interventions. Using CERTAIN has shown improved mortality rates, reduced ICU length of stay and expenditures.
According to Ognjen Gajic, M.D., Mayo Clinic investigator and member of the CERTAIN development team, “The first hours a patient enters the healthcare system are crucial – errors and delays can result in poor outcomes in these golden hours. CERTAIN provides evidence-based diagnostic checklists, guided practice support, and educational modules for performing critical procedures, while timing and documenting real-time interventions to assist in these initial hours.”
“The care assisted by prompting with the checklist and guided practice tool (CERTAIN) will improve the processes and outcome of critically ill patients. We are excited to see CERTAIN commercially launched in China," said Rahul Kashyap, M.B.B.S., a member of the CERTAIN development team at the Mayo Clinic.

Using those technologies, Ambient Clinical commercialized the AWARE - CERTAIN platform and has worked with Bringspring Meehealth to develop CERTAIN product being launched today. The CERTAIN product provides critical clinical resuscitation information in the first “Golden Hours” of critical care. Bedside based alerts for conditions like Sepsis allow physicians and medical personnel to spend more time with patients rather than reviewing data. Ambient Clinical’s products are designed to support a hospital’s Lean Quality and Six Sigma initiatives. Ambient Clinical has achieved FDA Class II Clearance for the AWARE and Sepsis DART software platform.
Mayo Clinic, Ognjen Gajic, M.D and Rahul Kashyap, M.B.B.S. have a financial interest in the technology referenced in this news release. The revenue that Mayo Clinic receives is used to support its not-for-profit mission in patient care, education and research.
