Mr. Berning is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience managing technology start-ups. Mr. Berning was the CEO of Hardcore Computer/Liquid Cool Solutions from 2007 to 2012. Prior to Liquid Cool Solutions Mr. Berning was CEO and Chairman of the Board of PEMSTAR from its founding in 1994. Mr. Berning led PEMSTAR to an IPO on NASDAQ in 2000 and its merger with Benchmark Electronics. In the early part of his career, Mr. Berning held numerous positions in management and engineering at IBM. He has sat on numerous boards including the Greater Rochester Area University Center, United Way of Olmsted County and the Advisory and Advocacy Board of the University of Minnesota Rochester. Mr. Berning received his M.B.A. and B.S. in industrial engineering from St. Cloud University.


Mr. Flaada has the responsibility for the product portfolio and technical direction and innovation for Ambient. He has 35 years of experience across IT, primarily as a technical executive at IBM. His experiences include both hardware and software development, spanning product management and technical leadership in enterprise software, high performance computing, cloud computing, and other core "new technology" areas. As part of these experiences Mr. Flaada led and managed a 10 year joint research and development collaboration between IBM and leading clinicians at Mayo Clinic in better applying information technology in clinical practice. Mr. Flaada has earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University, and an MS in Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Herasevich is Professor of Anesthesiology and Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic and Ambient Clinical Analytics’ Chief Medical Information Officer. He received his medical degree in Belarus, as well as a Ph.D. in the field of Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Herasevich joined Mayo Clinic in 2006. Additionally he has received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research and became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Management Systems (CPHIMS).
His interest in the area of medical informatics extends back to 1995 with a specific concentration on the applied clinical informatics in critical care. Dr. Herasevich has interests in studying and developing clinical syndromic surveillance, data visualization, decision support and prescriptive analytics. He is co-inventor of patented and licensed informatics technologies including AWARE and Sepsis DART, co-author of 90 PubMed cited articles book Health Information Evaluation Handbook. Dr. Herasevich teaches medical informatics classes at Mayo Medical School and Graduate School. He is a Fellow of Society of Critical Care Medicine and active within informatics societies serving on a number of committees.

Bill Hockstedler is Vice President Strategic Development for Ambient Clinical Analytics. With more than 19 years of healthcare sales and management expertise, Bill brings extensive knowledge in delivering solutions that improve the clinical experiences for providers, and patients while meeting the quality measures that are critical for financial performance. Prior to Ambient Clinical, after a successful career in the United States Air Force, Mr. Hockstedler held positions at Quest Diagnostics, Meditech, AccuSoft and Medsphere.
Ambient Clinical Analytics has achieved U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA Class II clearance for its AWARETM point of care platform and was built by clinicians for clinicians. The solution is designed for data collection, presentation, management and storage of patient information, used in conjunction with independent patient bedside devices and Hospital Information Systems. AWARETM is indicated for use in clinical care of hospitalized adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients (Newborn, infant, child, and adolescent) with or at risk of critical illness.
Ambient Clinical Analytics has been granted CE Marking certification for the AWARETM software platform. CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). CE Marking certification in addition to achieving FDA Class II clearance and ISO 13485:2016 certification continues to demonstrate Ambient Clinical Analytics’ is a world-class business delivering value and long-lasting support.
